John E. Claar, 76, Claysburg RD, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at Altoona Hospital. He was born April 12, 1923, in Claysburg, the son of the late Warren and Kathryn (Walter) Claar. He married D. Elmeda Weyant Feb. 18, 1950, in Cumberland, Md. Mr. Claar was a member of Lower Claar Church of the Brethren. He was the owner of J.E.C. Industries and the former owner of Sproul Lime and Stone Co. Mr. Claar enjoyed antiques, fabricating equipment and being outdoors. Surviving are his wife; a daughter a brother, and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, E. Pearl Claar, Dec. 31,1963.
