Janie Hall, age 79, a resident of Albuquerque, NM, passed away on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 after an extended illness.
Janie is survived by her husband of 60 years, Mike Hall, sons, Randy Hall, Doug Hall and his wife, Kirsten, Bruce Hall and his wife, Peggy and Don Hall and his wife, Tanya, eight grandchildren, Sarah, Kristen, Michael, Meghan, Collin, Elena, Nico and Marlene, brother, Roland Skelton and wife, Kay; sister-in-law, Carolyn Prentice and numerous other relatives and friends.
Janie was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Skelton.
Janie was born in 1936 in Healdton, OK and graduated from Beaumont Union High School in Beaumont, CA.
Janie and Mike were married in Beaumont on September 11, 1954. Janie supported Mike in his career in the United States Air Force, fluidly taking on the Squadron or Wing responsibilities commensurate with the spouse of a ranking officer. Janie was an admired leader and mentor to countless military spouses during Mike's 32 year USAF career. Moving around the country dozens of times as well as overseas, Janie created a beautiful, comfortable home in each new location, while assuring that her four boys were acclimated to their new schools and new neighborhoods.
After Mike's retirement they resided in Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. Janie enjoyed being an active member of Faith Lutheran Church. Janie was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and loyal friend. Being with her family was Janie's greatest pleasure. Her feisty humor, commanding style and trusted friendship will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
A Celebration of Janie's Life will be held on Monday, July 13, 2015 at 9:30 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 10000 Spain Road NE, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will follow at 12:45 p.m. at Santa Fé National Cemetery, Santa Fé, NM.
