The following obituary was taken from "Pawnee, A Ghost Town" by Lorraine Guilliams, though where the original was published is unknown.

"Cecil Sharp was born July 30, and died July 21, age two years, eleven months and twenty-one days. Little Cecil was a fragile blossom, ill-fitted to meet the rough winds of the earth, so the Good Shepherd folded him tenderly in His arms and bore him safely across the River of Life to that beautiful country where there is no sickness nor sorrow, to wait with little brother, Oran, the coming of father, mother and little sister, Ida Mae. How beautiful and yet how heart-breaking the giving of a pure life back to God who gave it. How strong the ties that draw one homeward when two baby hands are out-stretched, saying, "Come this way."

Funeral services were conducted by Elder Salyards of Lamoni, assisted by Elder Charles Jones and T. S. Bell, at Liberty Chapel. Burial was at the Masonic Cemetery at Eagleville. There was a large concourse of people in attendance."
