The Maitland Daily Mercury 28 June 1918:-
"WOLLOMBI.
Great regret was felt in the district when it
became known that Mr. Charles Wyndham, of
Wollong, had passed away suddenly on Wed-
nesday last. The deceased was very highly
respected and known throughout the State,
as one of the pioneers. Born at Dalwood, he
spent practically, the whole of his life in the
northern district. The name Wyndham is
associated with the foundation of the colony.
Charles Wyndham was a cricketer of no mean
order, and once represented the northern dist-
trict against an English team. He was a
great worker for the church, and had been a
lay reader for nearly half a century. The
funeral took place at Ellalong, and was fol-
lowed by a large circle of friends. The de-
ceased leaves a wife, two sons and four
daughters. June 27."
