Mrs. Juan Rios, 80, died Sunday, March 4, 1973, at 3:40 a.m. in Hill Country Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient for eight days. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6, at 10 a.m. in Schaetter Funeral Chapel, and at 10:45 a.m. in St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Stonewall, with the Rev. W. W. Schneider officiating. The rosary service was held Monday at 7:30 p.m. in Schaetter Chapel.
Mrs. Rios was the former Maria Felan, a daughter of Basilio Felan and Anastasia Vargas Felan. She was born June 1, 1892 in Mexico.
She married Juan Rios in Bandera, and he survives her in Stonewall.
Other survivors are Sylvistre Rios of Johnson City; Henry Rios of San Antonio; Minnie, Mrs. Clisio Valdez of San Antonio; Andrea, Mrs. Rudy Perez of Stonewall; Martha, Mrs. Emelio Perez of Sterling City; Domingo Rios of Big Spring; Mrs. Rafealita Sauseda of Louisiana; Catherina, Mrs. Pedro Valdez of Cleburne; and Leon Rios of San Antonio; also 72 grandchildren; one sister and two brothers, Juanita Rios of San Antonio, Jose and Eugene Felan, both of Stonewall.
Pallbearers for the final rites were Rudy Perez Jr., Adolph Rios, Ray Sauseda, David Rios, Daniel Valdez and Frank Valdez.
