One of the organizers of the United Jewish Appeal of New York and a Zionist pioneer, Morris Zeldin died after a brief illness. A fund-raiser for the UJA since its start in 1939, Zeldin came to the United States in 1912. He was an associate of many national and international Jewish leaders, including Chaim Weizmann whom he aided when Weizmann came to the United States in 1927 to raise funds for the Zionist movement.
