Mr. Darie Throckmorton, 92, of Durham, NC passed away peacefully on July 3, 2015, at the Brian Center Health and Rehabilitation after an extended illness. He was born on March 26, 1923 to the late Robert Lee and Fannie Maude Throckmorton in Roxboro, NC.

He retired from Brame Specialty Company after 30 years of service. Darie was a beloved husband, devoted father and grandfather, a loving brother and caring uncle.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Pauline Clay Throckmorton; six daughters, Vickie Throckmorton, Lynette Throckmorton and Lisa Throckmorton all of Durham, NC; Joyce Throckmorton of Creedmoor, NC; Phyllis Throckmorton and Cynthia Throckmorton of Bowie, MD; one grandson, DaMonte Turner of Durham, NC; one sister, Lizzie M. Throckmorton Hardy of Durham, NC; one sister-in-law, Josephine Throckmorton of Irvington, NJ and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015, at Saint Joseph's AME Church, located at 2521 Fayetteville Street, Durham, NC with Reverend Dr. Ronald L. Owens, Senior Pastor officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday, from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Markham Memorial Gardens.
