Joshua Ryan Holland, age 25, gently drifted to heaven on July 6, 2015. Joshua was born on June 28, 1990 and was the pride and joy of his loving family. He had a smile that would light up a room, a kind and gentle spirit, and a lively sense of humor. He was a graduate of Richard King High and Mary Grett Schools where he learned to be a productive and contributing part of his community and the work place. He loved competing in Special Olympics and excelled at swimming. Joshua loved his family, his friends, music, movies, dancing, and the Frio River. He loved holidays, parties, and all family celebrations. He was always the life of the party.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Holland; maternal grandparents, Millie and Jimmie Brooks; and paternal grandfather, David "Blackie" Holland. Joshua leaves to mourn his passing his mother, Barbara Holland; brothers, Bryan (Lori) Holland, Shaun (Alisha) Holland; sister, Melanie (Eddie) Shaw; paternal grandmother, Christina Holland; nieces and nephews, Thomas and Hunter Holland, Connor Hamilton, Carolyn Shaw, Austin and Ava Holland, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

During Joshua's battle with leukemia he was treated by the most amazing medical staff at Driscoll Children's Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Bryan Holland, Shaun Holland, Thomas Holland, Eddie Shaw, Kaleb Gates, Jake Nelson, Sr., Jake Nelson II, and Charlie Riddle.

A Visitation with the family will be held at 5:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Seaside Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass followed by testimonials will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church on Friday, July 10, at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
