Roy was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Roy did farming for most of his life first with his parents in Cornish at the Blow Me Down Farm then for himself on the Old Newport Road. He was also a self-employed carpenter, building many homes in the area. He also placed the clock in the First Baptist Church.
He leaves his daughter, Linda D. Lee; a brother-in-law, Maurice White and his wife, Loretta also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Edna M. White whom he married on November 5, 1945 and she died on September 13, 2006; two brothers, Carl Curtis and Ernest Curtis and one sister, Mildred F. Tolles.
Interment will be in the West Claremont Burying Ground.
