The following was written by her son, "It is with great sadness that I share with you the news that “Mama Irene” Guadagno—my mom, my best friend, my inspiration, and the brightest star in the electric sky—has passed away.
Mama Irene was one of a kind. Born in Italy, she was an Italian mother through and through (and obviously a great cook). She dedicated her life to her children. That motherly love extended to everyone she met at Insomniac and our shows. Her generosity and affection touched every element of the human spirit. She was never afraid to dance and let her love shine for all to see.
She was also an entrepreneur, always trying to fulfill her dreams and follow her passions and business projects. She was my strongest supporter and the biggest reason I’ve made it to where I am in life. If you knew her, you were a better person for it. I’m heartbroken that she’s gone, but her spirit and inspiration will always stay with me and manifest in everything I do.
Mama Irene herself would mark this occasion with a celebration so I’m going to do something special to honor her memory and give those people whose lives she touched a chance to share another wonderful moment with her—in true Mama Irene style."
