Suicide of a Former Burgess

BOSWELL, May 24.—Believed to have become despondent over a recent illness and business matters, Frank Feese, 40 years old, a former burgess of Boswell Borough, committed suicide last Saturday afternoon, near the ball ground. When found about 4 o'clock Saturday afternoon, the body was lying by the roadside, with a bullet wound in the right temple, and a revolver by his side. Life had probably been extinct for two hours. Mr. Feese was one of the early settlers of Boswell and was prominently connected with the borough's early history. He served a term as burgess and proved an able official. He was interested in real estate and controlled two mines—-the Standard Quemahoning here and the Hi-grade at Stoyestown. He was president of both concerns. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Emma Roth Feese, and one daughter, Dorothy. Several brothers and sisters also survive. After a short service at the home the remains will be shipped to Johnstown on Tuesday for interment in Grandview Cemetery.
