It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the death of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend, Maxine "Granny" Hunt, age 83. Maxine died Tuesday, November 26, 2013.

Maxine was born June 22, 1930 in Rolla, Kansas, the daughter of James Bennett and Mary (Riley) McBride. Her birth name was Helen Maxine McBride. She always preferred the name of Maxine. She met the love of her life, JD Hunt and they were married on June 6, 1948. She and JD had 42 wonderful years. From this union they had 3 children. Maxine raised her children with love and devotion with her husband, JD. People were drawn to Maxine's liveliness, humor and tenacity.

Maxine was preceded in death by her spouse, JD and her parents, Mary and Bennet "Mac" McBride.

She is survived by her children: Doug and Judy Hunt, Garden City, KS; Darrell and Mary Hunt, Wichita, KS; and Dianna and Charlie Keeton of Viola, KS; brothers: Vernon McBride, Hugoton, KS; and Earl McBride of Panama City, FL; 7 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 1PM Friday, November 29, 2013, at Resthaven Mortuary. Viewing and visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
