Orvis Duane Sanders, Jr., age 91, passed away Wednesday, July 1, 2015. He was a member of Saint Francis Episcopal Church in Norris, Tennessee. He served his country in WWII in England and France. Duane worked at the Y12 plant in Oak Ridge for 32 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Orvis and Mabel Sanders. He is survived by Joan, his wife of 65 years; sons, Sandy Sanders, Mark and Barbara Sanders; grandchildren, Trent and Camille Sanders, Katie and Dr. Adam Groves; great-granddaughter Ruby Jean Groves; sister, Veda and Dr. James Sherard; sister-in-law, Martha Vaughn; brother-in-law, Kenneth Huff; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Mike Henderson. The family would like to express their love and appreciation for the exceptional care given Duane by the staff of 200 N. Hall at Golden Living, Windwood in Clinton.

A graveside service is to be held at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, Clinton, on Tuesday, July 7th at 11:00 am, with the Rev. Joseph Minarik of Saint Francis officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Saint Francis Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 29, Norris, Tennessee, 37828.
