His full title was Sir Thomas Fowell Victor Buxton, 4th Baronet. He served as Temporary Major in the 2nd Battalion, Essex Volunteer Regiment. In 1905 he was the High Sherriff of Essex, and also a Justice of the Peace.

Husband of Lady Anne Buxton, father to Thomas, Roden, Clarence, Lucy, Jocelyn, Maurice and Rupert.

He died on May 31, 1919 after he was run over by his new motorcar while trying to figure out how to operate it.
