He was a farmer, carpenter, plumber and worked for Adam Rupp. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays.
His wife, Gertrude, died in 1979.
Survivors include a sister, Anna C. Gross of Hays; and a brother, Engelbert of Salina.
The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Rev. Michael Suchnicki officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:15 a.m. today at Hays Memorial Chapel, 20th and Pine, Hays 67601.
