Eugene Ulmer, 88, of Fargo, ND, formerly of West Hollywood, CA, died Thursday, June 2, 2015 at Villa Maria in Fargo.

Eugene William Ulmer was born October 10, 1926 in Fullerton, ND to William and Caroline (Schmidt) Ulmer. He attended grade school in Wright County and high school in Fullerton and after graduation took a summer teaching course as there was a shortage of teachers. He taught school for one year in the country, teaching grades 1 to 8.

When he was 19, he moved to Phoenix, AZ and attended Phoenix College.
Upon graduation, he moved to Sacramento, CA, where he began his 41-year career with Bank of America. Gene left the bank for about two years when he was drafted into the Army. He resumed his career with the bank and in 1952 he transferred to Hollywood. He worked at 51 different Bank of America branches in the Los Angeles area throughout his years.

In 1978, Gene had a special assignment working as a loaned executive to
United Way, who he enjoyed working with for many years. Gene also loved baking and gardening, and was known for many of his specialties that he would prepare for colleagues and friends. He was also an avid theatre and moviegoer.

Gene is survived by his brother, George Ulmer, Fargo, ND; and several nieces
and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.

Burial will be in the Maple View Cemetery, Fullerton, North Dakota.
