In Cutler, Indiana, July 31st, 1882, after only a few hours illness, Mary Ellen Cook, infant daughter of John A. and Melissa Cook, aged 14 months and 13 days died.
In this brother Cook is doubly bereaved, the mother of the little one having died in the early part of November last.
The funeral was on the 1st at Ball Hill Cemetery, when the Reverend W.R. Koontz officiated using Romans 6:23, as his text.
He showed that all infants dying in infancy, receive through Christ, God's gift of eternal life."

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."
