Charles "Chuck" Ledbetter, 58, of Freeport, TX , passed away on June 30, 2015, in Webster, TX. Chuck was born to loving parents James and Norma Ledbetter on February 6, 1957, in Freeport, TX.

After a long career, Chuck retired from Harris County Social Services. Chuck was a loving son who would sacrifice everything to help his fellow man. He was always giving of himself and working to better the world he lived in, seeking out opportunities to shine the light of service upon those who needed it most. One of the more memorable ways Chuck helped those around him was by being a coach for many years at the YMCA. He expanded this role and his love of sports to becoming one of his nieces' biggest fans in their sporting endeavors.
Even after some of his health setbacks occurred, Chuck maintained a willing heart and working hands. Chuck truly lived the statement of Paul – "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." His heart led him to moments of service both large and small, and when he graduated from this life to the next we are sure he was greeted by his Heavenly Father with the statement of "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Chuck is preceded in death by two siblings , his sister, Nancy Ledbetter ; and his brother, Jimmy Ledbetter.
Chuck is survived by his parents, James and Norma Ledbetter; daughter, Brittany Ledbetter; son, Lance (Evelyn) Ledbetter; grandsons, Ethan and Landon; his sister, Ayme (Johnnie) Christian; nieces, Jill, Kate, Kenzie, and Chelsea; a nephew, James (Hanna) Christian; and a great-niece, Harper Christian; as well as many other friends, aunts and uncles, cousins, and dearly loved ones.

He will be tremendously missed and his impact will never be forgotten.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Friday, July 3, 2015, at Restwood Funeral Home.
