MARCETTE K. BECKER, 95 DAKOTA - Marcette K. Becker, 95 of Dakota, died Saturday, December 19, 2015, in Presence Saint Anne Center, Rockford, IL.

She was born August 3, 1920, in Rock City, IL, the daughter of Frank and Maude (Bradley) Meinert. She married Joseph J. Becker on September 25, 1940, in Dubuque, IA, and together they enjoyed 57 wonderful years together. Marcette was truly an amazing woman. She worked full time at Burgess Batteries in Freeport for over 25 years, all while raising three children, doing the laundry in her ringer washer, never having nor wanting an automatic washer, gardening/mowing the lawn, walking and biking miles upon miles. Marcette loved baking homemade breads and sweet treats most famously her pies and cinnamon rolls, to share with her family on those Sunday afternoon dinners and every holiday and family gathering. Marcette and Joe loved to travel and their grandchildren were the lucky bearers of that love; for all of them have fond memories of their trips to numerous destinations around the US with Grandma and Grandpa.

She is lovingly survived by her two daughters, Maude Viel and Vee Ann (Robert) Fry, both of Pecatonica; one son, Frank (Cathy) Becker of Janesville WI; six grandchildren, Pam (Randy) Hutting and Kim (Roger) Greene, both of Pecatonica, Tammy (George) Sciame and Carrie Fry, both of Rockford, Terry Becker of Edgerton, WI and Troy (Staci) Becker of Janesville; 15 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Tootie Meinert of Dakota IL.

She was preceded in death by her husband; son-in-law, George Viel; five brothers, Charles, Frank, Clement, Lee, and Jackson; two sisters, Margaret Solberger and Marjorie Homan.

Friends may call from 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 22nd, to the time of service at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 115 S West Street, Dakota, IL 61018. The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in the Dakota Cemetery. A memorial has been established for Heartland Hospice. Please leave a message in Marcette's guestbook at www.daughenbaughfh.com.
