Jo Ann Wheeler, 76 of Corinth, passed away on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at her home. She was born November 10, 1938 in Alpine, TX to Donald N. and Vida M. (Coulson) Carlton. She grew up in Fort Davis, TX.
Jo Ann was a graduate of Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Child and Family Development.
She was married to Jim T. Wheeler on April 9, 1971 in Denton and was co-owner with him in Terrill Wheeler Printing Company.
Jo Ann was a member of the Denton Bible Church as well as Denton Benefit League, Oakmont Country Club Woman's Club, The Arts Guild, Greater Denton Arts Council, New Horizons, Pioneer Club, Soroptimist, and was heavily involved with the founding of The Wheeler House in Denton, TX.
Mrs. Wheeler is survived by her husband Jim Wheeler of Corinth, daughters, Terri Henderson and husband Terry of Lake Dallas, Susan Springer and husband Kraig of Grapevine, sister Nancy Carlton and husband Colin Brain of Bristol, England brother Donald Carlton and wife Frances of Midland, and two grandchildren, Erin Beaty and husband Preston, and Kelly Springer.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2015 at 10 A. M. in the Denton Bible Church Chapel, with Rev. Tommy Nelson, officiating. Interment to follow in August in Fort Davis, TX.
