Born in Pittsfield on October 3, 1948 to Edward Henry Frenier and Alta Madeline Putnam Frenier, Cheryl grew up with her siblings, Andrew, Dennis, Carol, Deanna, and Arlene.

After graduating from Pittsfield High School in June 1966, Cheryl attended McCann Vocation Medical Assistant Program graduating in 1967, beginning her medical career as a medical assistant in the office of Dr. Roger Connor in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

After nine years, Cheryl left his employ to work as a credit clerk for Schaffer Eaton Paper Company.

Later, returning to the medical field, she graduated with honors from Berkshire Community College's Nursing Program (1987), embarking on her long-time career as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield before retiring due to ill health.

She enjoyed bowling and horse racing.

Her husband of thirty years, Douglas Gordon; and her brothers, Andrew and Dennis, preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sisters, Carol, Deanna, and Arlene; many nieces and nephews; and her former husband, William Kruger.
