Vera A. Sutherland

Longtime Bainbridge Island resident Vera A. Sutherland, 83 158 Ferncliff Ave. NE, Winslow, died Saturday at her home.
She was born June 17, 1899, in Hawthorne, Wis., and later moved to Washington state. She married William E. Sutherland in Hadlock in Jefferson County, and the couple moved to Bainbridge Island in 1920. He died in September 1980.
Mrs. Sutherland was a home maker most of her life.
Survivors include a daughter. Billie (Mrs. Edward) Loverich of Bainbridge Island; a son, Robert E. Sutherland of Seattle; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Owyen Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island, with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Seattle. Memorials may be made to any charity.
