Her siblings were David B (Leah Miller), Daniel B (Leah Good Moore), Isaac H (Mary Croft), Jacob B (Anna S Deetz/Dietz), Rebecca C (Christian C Fisher), Hannah (died at age 15), Benjamin, Jr (Arminda Ramsey), Mahalah May (Jeremiah Lower) and Rachael E (Jeremiah Howell) Lower. She had two stepsisters - Sarah Lower Smith & Susanna Lower Smith. Benjamin's first wife had died.

Daniel met his death while serving in the Civil War in Hamburg, Hardin Co. TN., leaving Mary with quite a brood of children - Isaac having been born 13 May 1862 and Father died 24 June 1862. He may have been interred in Tennessee as there is no stone for him in this cemetery. There are markers for Mary Elizabeth and Baby Susannah. Mary E passed on April 3, 1869, at the age of 44 yrs.
