Anna Davenport Windle (Nanny), 81, passed away November 17, 2005. She was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and was dedicated to helping and bringing joy to others. She was widow to Robert Charles Windle. They shared 54 years before his death. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Lee DiMantova and her husband, Brian; her son, Robert Charles Windle II; five grandchildren, Tommy Strickland and his wife, Theresa, Jennifer Brockman and her husband, Joseph, Janet Windle, Brian DiMantova II and Billie DiMantova; five great-grandchildren, Rachel, Kyle and Hannah Strickland, Brock and Harrison Brockman; her devoted sister, Theresa Taylor, Shirley Shumaker and Elizabeth Morman; her brother, William Davenport; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Frances Wartham; and her brother, J.R. Davenport. Her remains rest at the Bliley Funeral Homes' Staples Mill Chapel, 8510 Staples Mill Road, where the family will receive friends and loved ones on Saturday, 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, 6 to 7 p.m., with a Christian Wake at 7 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 1 p.m., at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church on Woodman Road. Interment to follow at Greenwood Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory can be made to Circle Center Adult Day Services, 3900 W. Broad St., Bldg. 20, Richmond, Va. 23230.
