Pierre left St Martinville and lived in Lafayette for awhile. Then he moved to Lake Charles, LA in 1921 where he worked as a brick mason. He started his own contracting and building company and later took in his son, Herman, as his partner. Pierre erected and operated a concrete brick and block manufacturing plant in Lake Charles. He is credited with laying the first concrete sidewalk in Lake Charles. He was also known for his contractor work in the surrounding areas.
We can not find a record of his burial in Graceland Cemetery with their office. His obit stated that his interment was to be in Graceland Cemetery where he had built with his own hands his tomb several years before his death. His wife, Edolie's obit also stated that her interment would be in the Orange Grove cemetery.
We have to assume that the tomb is weathered and the names are no longer readable. Some of his children and their spouses are also buried in the Graceland/Orange Grove cemetery.
