Samuel Olues Olivier was the son of Pierre and Eudolie Simpson Olivier and was born in St. Martin's Parish, LA.
His siblings were; Joseph Wilmer, Pierre Herman, Marie Eudalie, John Halton, George Earl, Luke, Marie Eloise, and Joseph Earnest Olivier.
Rev. Olivier had resided in Port Arthur, TX only nine months when he passed away. He retired as a Baptist minister in Sulphur, LA the previous September after preaching for 32 years. He was a member of the Fourth Avenue Baptist Church in Port Arthur, Tx.
Samuel and his first wife, Martha Jane Noguess Olivier, had four children; Olues Eduithe, Grace, Winnie and Roy.
Martha died after Roy was born and the infant only lived a couple of months. Samuel then married Martha's widowed sister, Marguerite Noguess McDonald Olivier. She had one son, James, from her first marriage. She and Samuel had no children. After her death, Samuel married Oma Stanton who died during child birth. His fourth wife was Ruth Ammons who also died. His fifth wife was Georgia Ada White. They married in 1912 and had 3 sons; Otis, George and Homer Olivier.
At his death he was survived by his wife, Mrs. Ada White Olivier; two sons, Olues and George Olivier, all of Port Arthur, TX; a daughter, Mrs. Adam Smith of Eunice, LA; two sisters, Mrs. W. C. Whitman of Lake Charles and Mrs. J. W. Alford of Pineville; three brothers, Hermon and Earnest Olivier of Lake Charles and Halton Olivier of Beaumont, TX; and 9 grandchildren.
