American Artist. Born in Philadelphia he was a student at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts of Christian Schussele and Thomas Eakins. He then went to Paris where he studied with Jean Leon Gerome at the Ecole des Beaux Arts. He lived in several French coastal areas, settling in Concarneau around 1884 after living for a period in Brittany.

In 1890, he returned to the United States and was in charge of the Art Program at the Drexel Institute in Philadelphia. He was a son of Frederick William Grayson and Mary Mallett Prevost Grayson.
