Alexander G. Williams was born about 1820 in South Carolina and died April 15, 1865 in Dalton, Whitfield County, Georgia. He was married to Nancy V. Peek, on August 11, 1843 in Cherokee County, Georgia. Nancy was the daughter of Solomon Walker Peek, Sr., born about 1870 in Surry County, North Carolina and died December 21, 1858 in Alpharetta, Fulton County, Georgia. Alexander died in camp while serving with Company H of the 66th GA Volunteers during the Civil War. Nancy filed for a pension and stated in an affidavit that she went to see Alexander in camp in March 1865 near Dalton, Georgia and he had diarrhea at the time she was with him and that about 20 days after she returned home, she received a letter from the "authorities" of the company telling her that he had died but they didn't say how he died or where he was buried.(GMT)

He was the father of Eliza Evelyn Williams Bagwell, Mary J Williams, William Taylor Williams, Thomas Ray Williams, Sara Rosana Williams Morris, George W Williams, Jackson Williams, and Florence Nancy Williams Nix.
