Raymond Edward Duke was born January 25, 1953 to the late Jesse Duke Sr. and Margaret Russell Duke in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Along his journey here on earth Raymond accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. He attended Rockdale Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher.

He was educated in Cincinnati Public Schools and also attended Job Corps. After working numerous jobs, Raymond enlisted into the United States Army. During his 21 years of service he was stationed in Hawaii as well as Panama. After his honorable discharge he felt a need to return to the military and he re-enlisted in the ArmyNational Guard and remained active until 2013.

Health issues led to Raymond’s early retirement after 15 years as a supervisor of Environmental Management Services at the Veterans Administration Medical Center.

Raymond departed this life on March 29, 2015 surrounded by his family. He leaves to cherish his memories, his loving wife Charlene Duke; his dear children Raymond Jr, Tara, Christopher, Carl and Christian Duke, Britney and Kenneth Williams. He also leaves his loving brother and sister Jesse Duke and Marguerite Doolittle of North Carolina; six sister-in-laws, four brother-in-laws, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren. Additionally, he was so proud to recently become a great grandfather. Siblings that proceeded him in death: Melvin and Kermit Smith, Michael Duke, Earline Cooper, Agnes Brooks, Betty Jean Newton,
Betty Jane Smith. He was loved by many and will truly be missed by all that knew him.

Visitation is from 10:00 am until 11:00 am, on Saturday, April 4, 2015, at the Walker - Reading Road Chapel , 3939 Reading Road , Cincinnati (45229). The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation beginning at 11:00 am.

Interment is in Walnut Hills Cemetery at Cincinnati, Ohio.
