Geraldine I. Keesy, 97, of Mishawaka, passed away at 7:57 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2006, in the residence of her niece, Nancy Schmok, with whom she had lived since 1984. Geraldine was born on December 19, 1908, in South Bend, to Charles and Mary Ann (Coleman) Suabedissen. On April 16, 1926, she married Roy Fredrick Keesy, who had passed away on January 4, 1984. Her parents have preceded her in death along with a sister, Dorothy Schmok, who passed on January 15, 1999, and a nephew, James Schmok. Surviving Geraldine are a niece, Nancy A. Schmok; nephews, Charles and Robert Schmok; four great-nephews, Steven (Suzette) of South Bend, Scott (Shari) of Austin, TX, Ken (Dorothy) of Fishers, IN, and Kevin (Amy) of McKinney, TX; and 11 great-great-nieces and nephews. Geraldine was a homemaker, a member of Epworth Memorial United Methodist Church, African Violet Society and the William Penn Association. Visitation will take place on Monday, March 27, 2006, from 9 to 10 a.m. in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road, South Bend. Funeral services will be Monday, March 27, in Highland Cemetery, where burial will immediately follow.
