MARIE J. (PAONESSA) GASBARRE
A Mass of Christian Burial for Marie J. Gasbarre, a longtime resident of Niagara Falls, will be offered at 9:15 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1413 Pine Ave., following prayers at 8:45 in the M. J. Colucci & Son Funeral Chapel, 468 19th St.
Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Mrs. Gasbarre, 92, of Mount St. Mary's Nursing Home and formerly of 16th Street, died Thursday (Nov. 24, 1994) in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, after a long illness.
A native of Jones Point, NY, she was born February 17, 1902, the daughter of Salvatore and Catherine (Rotella) Paonessa.
She moved to Niagara Falls with her family when she was a child. She was a 1920 graduate of Niagara Falls High School.
Her husband, Dominick Gasbarre, died in 1944.
Survivors include a son, Salvatore A.; two daughters, Eleanor Favata and Margaret Demske; a sister, Margaret Cioffi; and a brother, Salvatore Paonessa; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Anthony Paonessa, Peter Paonessa, Rose Salerni, and Fiorina Rotundo.
