James Nathan "Nate" Cain, 87, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015.
Nathan was born on February 27, 1928 in Escambia County, Florida, to the late James David and Johnnie Lou Bogan Cain. He was a proud United States Marine Veteran and retired as a foreman from Champion International Paper Company.
A beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather, Nathan loved his family dearly. He was a devoted son who always provided care for his parents. As a young father, he became a widower raising his daughters on his own. Nathan lived a full life with many happy times. He became a pilot at age 16 and was an accomplished race car driver. Nathan was also an avid lover of music singing songs whenever he was happy. He loved country music, especially Patsy Cline.
In addition to his parents, Nathan was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lana Barlow Cain; and brothers, John Paul Cain and Jack Cain.
The family will receive friends at The Farmhouse at McCullough Funeral Home on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 6:00 p.m. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Faith Chapel North, 1000 S. Hwy 29, Cantonment, FL 32553. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Faith Chapel North. Nate will be laid to rest following the service in Florida in Sardis Baptist Church Cemetery, Atmore, AL.
