Kathryn O. Walker, 91, of Villa Grove died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday (June 21, 2015) at Country Health Care and Rehab Center in Gifford.
Mrs. Walker was born June 1, 1924 in Crittenden Township, a daughter of Aloysius and Martha (Spitz) Oaks. She went to school in the Urbana area. She married Don Walker on Oct. 12, 1946, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Urbana. They were married for almost 42 years. Don preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Janet (Dennis) Seals and Nancy (Joe) Eisenmenger; one son, Joseph (Sarah) Walker; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Kathryn was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter and son-in-law, Dianne (Bruce) Derby; seven brothers and two sisters.
Kathryn was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Villa Grove, the Sacred Heart Quilting Group and the Villa Grove Chapter 2876 VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She also did house cleaning in the area. She was an election judge for many years and had volunteered at the Villa Grove Elementary School in the third-grade reading program.
