MOORESVILLE Shirley Ann Robbins Morrow, 79, of Mooresville, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center. Shirley was born Oct. 20, 1938, in Mooresville, to the late Carl Robbins and Mabel Kennerly Robbins. Mrs. Morrow was a 1956 graduate of Mooresville High School, where she was in the marching band and played basketball. She was an active in the Civitans for a few years. Mrs. Morrow was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Mooresville. She enjoyed dancing, loved Carolina basketball and the Atlanta Braves. She also loved her family, grandchildren and her dogs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Whittington. She is survived by her husband, James Morrow Jr.; son, Chip Whittington; granddaughter, Piper Whittington; stepdaughter, Mary Morrow; stepson, Tom Morrow and wife, Julie; and stepgrandchildren, John and Julianna Morrow. A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 14, at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Jason Sentas officiating. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 249 West McLelland Ave., Mooresville, NC 28115; and/or Mooresville A.R.P. Church, 659 Carpenter Ave., Mooresville, NC 28115. Cavin-Cook Funeral Home & Crematory of Mooresville is serving the Morrow family.
