AXIONOFF, Alex – A great loss will be felt in the passing of Alex Axionoff, longtime resident of Potrero Hill, and proud member of the I.L.W.U. Local 10, Longshoreman for 27 years. Whomever he touched, he left with the gift of love and friendship. His sense of humor and adventure had no limits, and now he is free to follow every new sunrise and sunset. He is survived by his best friend, lover, partner and wife Marilyn, who will always travel with him I her heart, and daughter Kim who gave him the gift of three terrific grandchildren, Lindsay, Jamie and Cody. His loving family, mother Nastia, father Paul (deceased) with boundless courage, came to this country from Russia to give their family a better life with sisters Elizabeth, Ludmeila, Olga, and brother Walter. Even through his declining health, his horizons never diminished, sharing adventures with his nephew Eric, and niece McKenna, and so many wonderful cousins. "Unkie Alex" will always swim with the dolphins and sleep with the angels.
