Lois F. Coufal, age 98, of Columbus, died Sunday, June 21, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Columbus.

Lois F. Coufal was born April 15, 1917 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Henry and Henrietta (Heidenreich) Schricker. She grew up in Grand Island where she graduated from high school. She married Frank J. Coufal Jr. on January 4, 1941 in Grand Island. Lois worked for JC Penny in the Grand Island office. She then co-managed the American Legion Club in David City. Lois then worked for Tempo in the fabric department for several years. Throughout the years she lived in Grand Island and Ord before moving to Columbus in 1957. She was a member of St. Bonaventure Church. Lois loved her crafts and sewing. She enjoyed music, dancing, playing cards, working outside and most of all spending time with her family.

Lois was an avid Husker fan. In honor of her love of the Huskers, the family invites you to join them in wearing red.

She is survived by:
Daughter: Judy (George) Bixenmann of Norfolk
Daughter: Jane (Martin) Koziol of Genoa
Daughter: Joan (John) Willis of Columbus
Daughter: Jean Cheloha of Lincoln
16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 5 great great grandchildren
Brother: Art and Bill Schricker
Sister-in-law: Marcia Schricker

She was preceded in death by her husband: Frank Coufal, parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister.
