Mr. John Abraham came to the Unites States from Syria in 1901. He settled in Wayland with his wife, Barbara, and worked in the Millen Cement Works and Gunlocke Chair Company before joining his brother James in a restaurant business on Main Street. John Abraham was the first cook for “Jim’s Restaurant” established in 1924. He was a member of Warren Patchin Lodge, F.& A.M. Mr. Abraham died in 1949. According to his obituary, he “was survived by his wife Barbara Abbott Abraham; four daughters, Mrs. Julia Moore of Geneva, Mrs. Biddia White, of Webster’s Crossing; Mrs. Anna Yarrington, of Wayland; and Miss Hazel Abraham, of Rochester; three sons, Joseph and Abe, of Wayland, and George Abraham, of Naples; several grandchildren; two sisters; three brothers.”
