Inscription

Sacred to the memory of
Rebecca,
the wife of Archibald Hamilton, Esquire,
of Cumberland Street, St. Mary-le-Bone.
Her remains are deposited in the vault under this chapel.
Obt. 29th. April, 1814, aetat 67.
Deep affliction seth not many words.
All that is intended here is to record the worth and excellence
of one of the best of women,
a most tenderly affectionate and generous wife.
Her memory will ever be cherished
with the warmest gratitude
by her deeply afflicted husband,
who has erected this humble monument
in testimony of his inexpressible sorrow,
which can only cease with his life.
She was consistent and faithful
in the performance of her religious duties
and eminent for the practice
of every Christian virtue;
above all,
that of charity!
In the same vault
are deposited the remains of
Archibald Hamilton Esqr.
husband of the above.
He died
August 25 1831, in his
93d. year.
