He graduated from Harvard University in 1671; admitted to the church in Roxbury 27 April 1678. He studied divinity with Rev. Samuel Danforth, and began preaching in Dunstable early in 1679. He was ordained 16 December 1685. His church was the 5th church organized within the limits of New Hampshire; (at that date Dunstable was within the jurisdiction of Massachusetts).
Preaching was probably suspended two years or more during the Indian hostilities beginning in 1691; and he died at the beginning of Queen Anne's War, 7 June 1702.
He married 1st in Medford, Middlesex, Massachusetts on 9 November 1681, Elizabeth Wilson, daughter of Rev. John and Sarah (Hooker) Wilson. She died at Dunstable 29 July 1687, and he married 2nd at Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts, Mary Savage, daughter of Habijah and Hannah (Tyng) Savage of Boston.
There were four children of the first marriage and two of the second marriage.
