Phillip F. Carroll, 77, died Thursday, June 29, 2006, at Lebanon V.A. Medical Center. He was the husband of Genice M. (Carlisle) Carroll. They were married for 51 years. Mr. Carroll was born November 26, 1928, in York, a son of the late David and Laura (Gutherie) Carroll. He retired from Caterpillar as a machine operator and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Phillip was a member of Emmanuel Church of God in Christ Church. Service Monday, July 3, at Emmanuel C.O.G.I.C. Church, York, Elder Leighton McMillon officiating. Burial in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens with military honors by York County Veterans Honor Guard. In addition to his wife, Phillip is survived by three daughters, Priscilla L. Lynch of Darby, Vienna G. Carroll of New York, NY, and Laura S. Beveridge of York; son Clayton P. Carroll of York; six grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; four sisters, Dorothy Wilson, Adele Banks, Barbara Ann Gaines, all of York, and Isabelle Washington of Frederick, MD; and three brothers, David Carroll of NC, and Samuel Carroll and Robert Carroll, both of CA. He was preceded in death by son David A. Carroll; brother Benjamin Carroll; and sister Susan Burgan. [York Daily Record]
