Roy worked for the railroad. He was in Kansas City to take a course of study in an automobile school when he was stricken with influenza-pneumonia (most likely the Spanish Flu) and died suddenly. Roy married Alice Crosley in 1911. He is buried directly behind his parents in the IOOF Cemetery section of the Orchard Mesa Municipal Cemetery.
