Olive Virginia (Derickson) Lundeen, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Friday, October 24, 2003.

Graveside services were held Tuesday, October 28, 2003, at Lincoln Memorial Park in Lincoln, Nebraska.

Olive was born on March 27, 1912, in Dorsey, Nebraska, to Samuel Derickson and Annie Emerson. She graduated from Neligh, Nebraska, High School in 1930 as class salutatorian. In high school she wrote for the school newspaper which won state and national awards. She was employed at the Soil Conservation Office in O'Neill, Nebraska before marrying. She married Wallace V. Lundeen on October 26, 1941.

She was known for her baking skills and won many ribbons and prizes at the Nebraska State Fair. She had many artistic talents and enjoyed painting and writing poetry. Most of all, she loved Dorsey, the state of Nebraska, traveling with her husband, and visiting family and friends.

Survivors include one daughter and her husband and one grandson all of Columbus, Ohio; nieces and nephews, Mildred and Darrell Heese, a niece and her husband Elroy Lieb, Maxine Spangler (Merle), Menna Derickson (Albert), Mabel Boyd (Thomas), Sammy and Nancy Derickson, Evelyn Derickson (William), Dorothy and Lester Derickson, Virginia and Elvin Scranton, Olive Darlene Redlinger (Reuben), and Vera Arlene Hoy (Lawrence) and many grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband and seven brothers and sisters.
