READFIELD - Donna May (Branch) Lucas, 78, of the Plains Road, went to be with her parents and family on June 16, 2015. Donna was born in Gardiner on Oct. 17, 1936, the fourth child of Wayland and Gladys (Heath) Branch. She attended Gardiner area schools.

She met her future husband Dwight Lucas Jr., and they were married on Jan. 27, 1956, and began to raise their family in Readfield.

Donna did many jobs in her lifetime including working at Edwards Mill in Augusta, Health Tex, sharing her love in a daycare at Butler and Black and working as a housekeeper at Heritage Manor in Winthrop. Her greatest job and joy, was watching over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as their parents worked.

Donna was predeceased by her parents and a sister Eleanor Christie. She is survived by her husband of 59 years Dwight Lucas Jr.; three sons, Timothy and his wife Louanna of Northwood, N.H., Steve and his wife Debbie of Sidney, and Roger and his wife Zina of Readfield, five daughters, Bonnie and her husband Timmy Norris, Lori and her husband Altamont King, and Diane Hanson, all of Readfield, Karen Rollins and her fiancé Rob Hunt of Lewiston, and Myrtle Lucas and her partner Joe Ridley of Winthrop. Donna loved every one of her 22 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Wayland Branch Jr., of Connecticut, two sisters Maxine Cook of Randolph and Kay Gay of Cheslea; her in-laws Stewart Lucas Sr. and his wife Ingrid of Manchester, and Peggy Parks and her husband Kenneth of Readfield; also several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at the East Readfield Cemetery on Route 17. Arrangements are in the care of Roberts Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 62 Bowdoin St., Winthrop. (Central Maine 6/18/2015)
