THEODORE BATYE
Theodore Floyd Batye, 86, died Monday, Mar. 20, 1995 at his home in Sumner.
Theodore was born Oct. 16, 1908 in Linn County, Missouri, the son of Lawrence Edgar and Stella Elizabeth (McCollum) Batye. He had spent all his life in the Sumner area.
Theodore was married to Myrtle Waugh on Feb. 10, 1933 in Linneus, Missouri, who survives of the home.
Mr. Batye was employed by the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad Section for 27 years. He was a member of the Sumner United Methodist Church in Sumner.
Besides the widow, he is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Clifford (Edith) Huffmon, Mrs. (Pauline) Woody and Mrs. Clark (Stella) Milligan, all of Sumner, and Joyce Carr of Grandview, Missouri; a brother, Clifford Batye of Little Rock, Arkansas; a sister, Mildred Hargadine of Carrollton; a sister-in-law, Mabel Batye of Rothville; an aunt, Murrell Estes of Enid, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Batye was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Robert and William Batye; two brother and two sisters, two grandchildren, a great-grandchild, and a son-in-law.
Services for Mr. Batye will be Mar. 22 at the Sumner United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Sumner under the direction of the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe.
