Marvin Dale Kirk, 88, passed away June 11, 2015 following a brief illness.

"Dale" was preceded in death by his sisters: Mary Ellen and Sybil; brothers: James and David; and his beloved canine companion, Kelly.

He leaves behind his wife of 68 years, Magdalene (Maggie) Kirk; son, Philip Kirk (Patti); daughter, Susan Neasham; brother, Walter (Carolyn); grandchildren, Dean Neasham (Angie), Chris Kirk (Una), Troy Neasham (Shelley), Cindy Bellavia (Ron) and Kevin Kirk (Toni); and 10 great-grandchildren.

He was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandpa, great grandpa and friend.

Dale was born in Gadsden, Arizona and raised in Porterville, CA. He and his wife Maggie spent 40 years in Bakersfield, CA, with the last 10 years in Tucson.

After serving in the military for two years as a military policeman, Dale returned to Porterville where he worked as a baker at SunBeam Bakery for 26 years. Dale then worked for the Kern County School District for 18 years from which he retired.

He was an avid sports fan and loved to watch all sports, most significantly a lifelong devoted California Angels baseball fan.

Dale joined the Nazarene church at age 14, and has been a faithful lifelong member, most recently a member for the past 10 years at Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene.

A private Military Funeral will be held at East Lawn Palms Mortuary and Cemetery on June 15th, 2015.

A public Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Oro Valley Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, June 27th, 2015 at 10:00am.
