KERNERSVILLE - Mrs. Janice Sapp Marcus, 68, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at Forsyth Medical Center. Janice was born on February 26, 1947 in Virginia to Charles Dewey and Dillie Bertha Slate Sapp. Janice was loved and will be missed by many. She spent many hours at the ocean under an umbrella reading her book. In her profession as an LPN, she served many. She was a simple lady who stood strong in her beliefs and raised many generations to be just as strong of a person as she was. Janice made it her duty to carry on southern traditions and morals in her family. She loved her family with an eternal love that will still be felt even though she’s no longer here. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by two brothers, Rufus Leo Sapp and Henry Howard Sapp; and three sisters, Betty Jean Whaley, Judy Stafford and Patsy Litaker. Surviving are her husband, John Marcus; two daughters, Patty Dunivant (Brad) and Tammy Beam (Michael); five grandchildren, Olivia and Katie Dunivant, Taylor Chandler, Johnathan and Noah Beam; one brother, Kenneth Sapp; one sister, Ruby Nichols; and many special nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2015 at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made to www.hayworth-miller.com
