Mathilda Koch, daughter of John and Henrietta Koch, was born in Salfeld, Germany, February 7, 1863 and died April 10, 1923, aged 60 years, two months and three days. She was the eldest of four children.

She was united in marriage to Anton Levandoski, August 17, 1883, in Germany.

To this union were born seven children, four girls and three boys. Two of the boys died in infancy. One daughter, Mrs. Wanda Shook, was taken away three years ago. The children that deeply mourn the loss of their mother are Mrs. Paulina Schaefer and Mrs. Freda Lytle of Cleveland, Mrs. Hanna Mader and Rody Levandoski of Bennetts Corners. She with her husband and two eldest children came to America 32 years ago.

She was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church and was very devout in her belief. She leaves four children, eight grandchildren, two nieces, Mrs. Minnie Luethy of Tampa, Florida and Mrs. G. Thompson of Medford, Wis. Her home was her world. She was devoted to her family and the welfare of her children was very dear to her. Her health had been poor all winter, but no one thought the end would be so soon. It came suddenly with no one with her but her faithful husband.
