Hazel Erickson was born in Sioux Falls, SD on Sept 29, 1917 to Henry and Teresa (Blanchard) Erickson.
She lived in Sioux Falls, SD her entire life. Hazel worked in various offices before accepting a position in School of Nursing at Sioux Valley Hospital where she worked for many years. She was a charter member of the Hope Lutheran Church.
Hazel volunteered countless hours to the church, Sanford Medical Center and Sunnycrest Retirement Center. She sewed numerous quilts for overseas, knitted caps for children and received the President's Call to Service Award for volunteer service. She was an avid reader with a very inquiring mind.
Hazel was preceded in death by her mother and father.
A graveside service will be held on 10:00 am Tuesday, June 9 at Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 5:00-7:00 pm Monday at Miller Funeral Home, 507 S. Main Avenue.www.millerfh.com
