Bro. Larry J. Whitehead, age 59 years, of Hilltop Community died December 19, 2013 in Somerset, Kentucky at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, December 22, 2013 at 2pm in the McCreary County Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Lovitt officiating. Burial was in the Sammy New Cemetery.
He was born In Oneida, Tennessee on April 2, 1954 the son of the late Robert and Dessie (Clark) Whitehead. He was a mechanic; Pastor of the Pine Knot Freewill Baptist Church; He was a Freewill Baptist Minister ordained in February 1977. He devoted his time to his family and spent his life in service for the Lord.
His parents; and sister, Magdeline Whitehead precede him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 39 years Candy Sue (Clevenz) Whitehead; daughters, Tonya Crabtree and husband Rick and Crystal Phillips and husband, Troy both of Pine Knot, Kentucky; brothers and sisters, Tim Whitehead and wife, Della of Holland, Ohio, Leamon Whitehead and wife, Patty of Minerva, Ohio, Litton Whitehead and wife Vallery of Stearns, Kentucky, Warren Whitehead and wife, Kathy of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Glen Whitehead and wife, Jean of Springport, Indiana, James Whitehead and wife, Kim of Monticello, Kentucky, Gale Whitehead and wife, Becky of Nancy, Kentucky, Brenda Meece and husband, Jim of Munice, Indiana, Linda Meece of Somerset, Kentucky, Margie Whitehead of Whitley City, Kentucky, Martha Taylor of Pine Knot, Kentucky, and Kimberly Whitehead of Whitely City, Kentucky; granddaughter, Alison Spradlin, step grandson, Tony Crabtree, step great grandson, Weston Crabtree; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
