Mary E. Hatten
CALDWELL—Mary E. Hatten, 86, of 1324 Arlington, died Saturday night at a Caldwell hospital after a short illness.
She was born Nov. 28, 1870, at St. Louis, Mo., and moved with her parents in 1875 to Staples, Minn., in 1875. She resided there until her marriage to Thomas J. Hatten in 1889.
The couple moved to Jamestown, N. D. where Mr. Hatten was employed by the Northern Pacific, railroad. He died in 1924. She had made her home alternately with her two sons, D. Rex Hatten of Duluth, Minn., and Thomas W. Hatten of Caldwell, but had resided in Caldwell since 1953.
Mrs. Hatten was a member of the Methodist church. Since 1940, she had been a life member of Lady Washington chapter No. 1, Order of Eastern Star, which she joined in 1894.
Surviving are one son, Thomas W. Hatten of Caldwell; one sister, Mrs. R. L. Galin of Pittsburg, Calif.; 17 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a. m. Tuesday at Canyon Hill under the direction of Flahiff chapel of Caldwell, with the Rev. Harold Nye officiating. Hermosa chapter 32, OES, will have charge of committal services.
The cortege will leave Flahiff chapel at 10:45 a. in. Friends may call at the chapel until service time.
